Our Story

We'd like to preface this section with a qualifier that we typically don't like to talk much about ourselves and we're more of a 'keep your nose to the grindstone, show you who we are through our hard work and product' kind of people, however as consumers, we understand wanting to know where products come from. Therefore, we felt we should share a little bit of our story.

We are Jessica and Adam Huston and we have three boys (14, 7, and 6) and a fluffy mutt named Dexter. When the opportunity arose to farm this property in 2023, the field had been dormant for many, many years and full of overgrowth, thistle, and weeds. We decided to bring this field back to life with beautiful flowers and lovingly named this place Little Meadow Farm. This required much clearing of the field, improving the soil, and creating the field infrastructure. We started out with a 1/8 acre fenced-in field in 2024, and expanded that to 1/3 acre field for 2025, in addition to planting an acre of wildflowers in the big field beyond it. Peonies, hydrangeas, and rose bushes were also planted in 2024, knowing these will take 3 years to fully mature.

We were both working two full time jobs up until 2020, Adam as a project manager and Jessica as an RN. Adam is originally from Deerfield, WI and Jessica grew up on a dairy farm in central Wisconsin. We knew we wanted a different lifestyle at that point with three young children, and after we spent years paying off all debt following the Dave Ramsey method, Adam quit his job to become a full time stay-at-home dad in December 2020. As time goes on, and both healthcare and society seemingly keeps changing in ways we don't like, we yearn for a simpler farming lifestyle for our family and hope to make this a full-time operation in coming years.

However, first we must be living on this property. In the winter of 2026, we will move into our new house at Little Meadow Farm. We look forward to continuing to grow beautiful flowers for the community and seeing you all again at the farmstand in 2026! Thank you for being a part of our adventure!
